I guess I would still be working my 60+
hour a week job doing mortgage loans and would still be miserable. I
am still working my mortgage loan thing, although I started my own company
when I started school which makes things not quite so bad! |

I love court reporting because... |
I love “Law and Order”! Seriously,
if I hadn’t stumbled across court reporting, I was going to go
to law school and I was taking classes to get my degree to be able to
transfer to law school. I just think this job is so much cooler than
even an attorney will be because I’ll be able to meet so many
people and hear about so many different things. |

Take a nap! I know, I know – I’m
working on this, but most times, I just want to go to bed. Between running
my company, taking care of my kids, doing a REALLY bad job at housekeeping,
taking care of the dogs, going to church, etc – I really just
want a nap! |

In a “perfect” world, I will
be a jet-set court reporter who gets to go to Australia and the Bahamas
to take work while managing my mortgage processing company that has
grown to be the largest SOUTHERN mortgage processing company. |
How I discovered court reporting - |
Well, my mom actually discovered it before
I did and after watching what it was and hearing everything she was
learning, I decided it was time for a change, and this was “soo
COOOL”! |

I am a single mom doing my best to make
it in this field. I know this isn’t for everyone, but I think
that everyone who does this should feel that it is FOR THEM. I don’t
see this as a “job”, but as a career choice, an identity,
a calling. |
